Portable, Playable, Uncompromising Percussion
The traditional cajon — the one you sit on — can be traced to the late 19th century and was popularized by people of West and Central African origins. Its versatility has made it a staple among many musical styles. Still, Meinl Percussion’s statured R & D team endeavored to boldly reimagine the cajon’s percussive possibilities through an innovative form factor that doesn’t alienate its rich cultural heritage. Enter: the Travel Slaptop Cajon. Its T-shaped profile diversifies playing configurations to accommodate many classic and contemporary performances; it’s designed with a Baltic birch playing surface with eco-friendly, medium-density fiberboard for the remainder of its construction. Forward-facing ports and dual internal snare wires ensure sounds are reactive, precise, and always pointed to where they need to go.
