Every nuance of the original’s wow, flutter, and gritty preamp are perfectly replicated, offering full modeling of the multi-head tape delay mechanism, tap tempo, and twice the repeat time. This results in an exceptionally warm, rich analog repeat with rhythmic possibilities that were simply impossible on the original unit. And while the ’74 Tape Echo sports a robust control section to dial in your sound, a quick flip of the Alt switch unlocks secondary functions on the bottom three knobs to further tweak your tone. Finally, pairing your Galaxy ’74 with the UAFX Control app allows you to swap the footswitch functions between Effects/Performance mode and Delay/Reverb mode, unlocking everything from feedback swells to echo rate ramps to bog-standard bypass options.
